Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix…
- 1/4 cup honey (my original recipe called for vegetable oil)
- 1 3/4 cups unsalted butter (3 1/2 sticks)
- 2 cups dark brown sugar (packed)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla (pure)
- 2 large eggs (slightly beaten)
Sift…
- 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Combine sugar mixture with flour mixture then add…
- 2 cups coarsely chopped nuts (I prefer walnuts, but pecans or any combination will work)
- 2 cups (or 1 - 12 oz. package) milk chocolate chips (I have used dark chocolate as well)
Bake approximately 10-12 minutes (maybe longer depending on the size of cookie - if the cookie is really large, say 1/4 cup, reduce the oven temperature to 350). When removing from oven, let sit on cookie sheet 5 minutes or so, then transfer to newspaper to cool. [ cookies that have a lot of oil, I always cool on newspaper ]
