My version of the the DoubleTree Hotel Chocolate Chip Cookies that I found at Top Secret Recipes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix…
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter (two sticks)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Add and continue mixing until smooth…
- 2 large eggs (slightly beaten)
Sift…
- 1/2 cups oat flour (or rolled oats that have been ground in blender or food processor)
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine sugar mixture with flour mixture then add…
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnutsÂ
- 3 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (or combination of both)
Using a large ice cream scoop, put 1/4 cup portions on un-greased cookie sheet. They should be about 2 inches apart. Bake for 16-18 minutes. When removing from oven, let sit on cookie sheet 5 minutes or so, then transfer to newspaper to cool.
The original recipe calls for chilling the dough overnight in the refrigerator, but it is not necessary.
