Sift…
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
In electric stand mixer, beat until light in color…
- 1 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
Add and beat to combine…
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon milk
Put mixer on low-speed, gradually add flour mixture, and beat until the dough pulls away fom the side of the bowl.
Dive the dough in half, wrap in waxed paper, pklace in fridge for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Roll out dough to 1/4” thickness on surface dusted in powered sugar. Cut in desired shapes, place on greased baking sheet (or parchment). Bake for 9 minutes - I try to remove them from the oven just as the edge starts to turn brown. Let sit on baking sheet for 3 minutes then cool on wire rack.
Once cooled, decorate with icing.
